This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on this website, what each one does, and how you can choose which ones you allow. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we look after your personal information more generally.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser so it can remember something about your visit. Some websites also use your browser’s local storage, which works in a similar way. In this policy we call them all “cookies”.
Some are essential to make the site work. The rest are optional, and we only use optional cookies if you agree to them. Until you make a choice, nothing optional runs.
Your choices
When you first visit, a banner asks which cookies you are happy for us to use. You can accept them all, reject everything that is not essential, or choose category by category.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie preferences link at the foot of every page. We save your choice for up to 12 months and then ask you again, and we also ask again if we add something new that needs your permission.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, we won’t be able to remember your choices, and you will see the banner on every visit.
Strictly necessary
These are needed for the website to work, so they are always on and cannot be switched off.
- Your cookie choices. Remembers which categories you have agreed to, so we do not ask on every page. Stored in your browser’s local storage as
deben_cookie_consentand kept for up to 12 months.
Functional
These draw the interactive map of our showroom on the “Where are we based?” panel. If you switch them off, you see a picture of the map instead, and nothing else about the site changes.
- Mapbox. Draws the map and counts how many times it loads, which is how Mapbox charges for it. Stored in your browser’s local storage as
mapbox.eventDataentries until you clear them. Mapbox is a US company. See Mapbox’s privacy policy.
Analytics
These tell us which pages people read, how they found us and where they leave, so that we can improve the website. The information is grouped together and used to understand how the site is used overall, not to identify you.
- Google Analytics. Sets
_gaand_ga_cookies to tell visits apart and measure page views and traffic sources. Kept for up to two years. Google Analytics is provided by Google. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Marketing
These let us see whether someone who clicked one of our Google Ads went on to send an enquiry, so that we don’t keep paying for adverts that don’t work. We do not use them to follow you around other websites with our adverts.
- Google Ads conversion tracking. Sets a
_gcl_aucookie that records that you arrived from one of our adverts. Kept for 90 days. Provided by Google. See Google’s privacy policy.
We use this only while we are running Google Ads campaigns.
Google Consent Mode
Our Google tags are set up to use Google Consent Mode. Until you agree to analytics or marketing cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads are not loaded at all, and the signals they would use are set to “denied”. If you agree and later change your mind, the change takes effect straight away.
Other services that load on this website
These services provide parts of the website. They do not set cookies for us, but because your browser fetches files from them directly, they can see your IP address and the page that asked for the files:
- Adobe Fonts supplies the typefaces. Adobe records which fonts are used, for licensing.
- Font Awesome supplies the icons.
- Basin provides the enquiry form, which loads in a frame from Basin’s own website. Anything the form uses to work and to protect itself from spam is covered by Basin’s own privacy policy.
- GitHub hosts the website and keeps short-term server logs, including IP addresses, for security.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we change the cookies we use. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we add a new cookie that needs your permission, we will ask you again.
